I got the inspiration for the braid from the book Folk Socks. Merike's socks and St Peter Port stripes both have the braid. In fact the braiding is purling. Once you lead the yarn over the last color used and the other row you lead the yarn under the last color used.
I've tried another heel: the half-handkerchief heel and another toe: double-decrease.
The pattern (pattern? lol) is my own. I just started knitting...in fact is knitting socks a kind of math: just use the formula!
The yarn is Opal Zebra and I have had enough of it. Anyone coming to the Handwerkbeurs on Saturday who wants to trade for a solid color? It is 70 gr what I still have left.
